I am a third-year medical student at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). My academic journey began at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where I majored in biology with a chemistry minor. I then continued my studies at PCOM, earning a master’s degree in biomedical science before embarking on my medical school journey.
As a Haitian immigrant and the youngest of 11 siblings, I am fluent in Haitian Creole, and I studied Italian for seven years. I am an advocate for women’s health and wellness, which led me to pursue a career as an OB/GYN. I am passionate about addressing the disproportionate rate of maternal mortality in minority communities and making a difference in this area.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I have also worked as a curriculum director for Girls on a Mission with Ambition, a nonprofit organization based in Elizabeth, N.J. I have enjoyed teaching young women of color about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), financial literacy and life planning, and creating a safe space for knowledge and support to be shared.
When I am not studying or working, I enjoy DIY projects, singing, dancing (soca, salsa, and kompa), fitness, fashion, and exploration. Spending time with family and friends is what keeps me motivated on my journey and helps me recuperate after long days.
Being at TidalHealth has been an absolute pleasure and has nurtured my love of learning and provided me with invaluable experience that is shaping me into a well-rounded physician. There is a sense of community here, and it is reflected in patient care and the cohesive nature of interaction between those who work here. I look forward to what the rest of the year holds!
