Overview
TidalHealth bills all of the insurance companies you provide at registration for any hospital services you receive. Please have your insurance cards or other insurance information available at your hospitalization.
Once payment is received from the insurance company, the TidalHealth facility at which you received hospital services will bill you for any remaining balance.
Understanding Your Insurance Coverage
It is important for you to understand the terms of your insurance coverage. Health insurance providers may have special requirements, such as using in-network providers or precertification needed prior to your admission. If your plan requirements are not followed, you could be held financially responsible for all or part of the services received during your hospitalization.
If you do not have insurance, payment is due at the time of service. Our financial counselors will discuss financial arrangements with you or will help you apply for Medical Assistance or investigate other programs that may help with your healthcare bill.
If you are unable to pay your bill, our financial assistance program provides free or reduced cost care for non-elective services to those in the community who are financially eligible. In order for us to determine eligibility, a patient must complete a financial assistance application.
Professional Physician Billing
Your hospital bill does not include charges for professional services provided by physicians involved with your care. They will bill you separately.
These physicians Include: Anesthesiologists, Radiologists, Surgeons, Pathologists, Emergency Physicians, and other specialty physicians.

TidalHealth Nanticoke Collection Policy Plain Language Summary
TidalHealth Nanticoke will attempt to collect the patient liability portion of all bills in concert with federal and state laws and regulations. The patient liability may include deductibles and co-pays after insurance or the balance if they have no insurance.
After billing insurance and receiving payment or policy information, the Patient Financial Services Office will send a minimum of two statements to all patients with a balance great than $10.00 and attempt telephonic contact. If payment is not received, or payment arrangements are not made, a final notice will be mailed. If there is no attempt to pay the bill after the final notice, the account may be referred to an outside collection agency for continued collection effort.
Financial assistance information is made available to all patients via the website, tidalhealth.org, through the Patient Financial Services Office, notices on billing statements and available at registration upon request. Efforts are made to offer financial assistance and or payment plans to avoid the collection process.
