Volunteering at TidalHealth is a meaningful way to support patients, families, and care teams. By sharing your time and talents, you help create a welcoming environment and make a positive impact across our hospitals and communities.
Volunteers at TidalHealth
Our volunteers selflessly put their skills, talents and energy to work for the health and care of their family, friends, and neighbors. Whether you want to volunteer a few days a week or just an hour or two on a weekend or at an outreach event, we have a place for you. Numerous areas of placement are available in patient care, clerical and support staff services. We offer opportunities to those who wish to assist patients and families as well as those who prefer to help behind the scenes.
For more information about volunteering at TidalHealth, please call our office at 410-543-7284 or email [email protected].

Volunteers with TidalHealth Spiritual Care consists of ordained or licensed clergy in the community.
Our chaplains are pastors who are currently serving churches, or who are retired from active duty ministry. They are available 24/7 as a resource for patients and family members, offering emotional and spiritual support, helping them address life-changing experiences and questions that emerge about the meaning of life. Respect for each individual and compassion is at the heart of this ministry. For more information about becoming a volunteer chaplain at TidalHealth, contact the Volunteer Department at 410-543-7284.

Junior Auxiliary Board
Since 1924, Junior Auxiliary Board volunteers have been raising funds and providing volunteer services for TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and the community.
The Junior Auxiliary Board has donated over $7 million for equipment, programs, nursing scholarships and capital improvements. Volunteers collect funds through various fundraisers and the Junior Board Shop, their primary revenue source. This shop offers wonderful assortment of gifts for visitors and staff. All of the proceeds are donated back to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.
Shop
The Junior Board Shop, located near the TidalHealth Frank B. Hanna Main Entrance lobby is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm.
Handmade care
Junior Board volunteers also make infant hats for newborns, hand puppets for pediatric patients, infant blankets for newborns in need, hats for chemotherapy patients and Christmas baby buntings. Junior Board funds support the Wee Care program, provide heart, lung and abdominal "hug" pillows for surgical patients and help meet emergency non-budgeted equipment needs. TidalHealth Atlantic Junior Auxiliary Group
The TidalHealth Junior Auxiliary Group formed in 1998 as a sub-group of then Atlantic General Hospital Auxiliary. The group consists of TidalHealth Atlantic staff and community members who want to socialize and be active in supporting the health system but are unable to volunteer during the day due to work or childcare responsibilities. We hold an average of nine meetings a year and generally hold two or three fundraisers yearly.
This group is open to all TidalHealth staff, families and community members.
The mission of the TidalHealth Junior Auxiliary Group is to increase community awareness of TidalHealth and its staff through fun, fellowship and family-oriented activities and fundraising.

TidalHealth Atlantic Auxiliary Thrift Shop
Operated by the TidalHealth Atlantic Auxiliary
The TidalHealth Atlantic Auxiliary Thrift Shop is a welcoming place to shop, donate and support our community.
The shop offers gently used clothing and household items at deeply discounted prices. Whether you are searching for a great bargain or need affordable essentials for yourself or your family, everyone is welcome.
The thrift shop has been part of the community since 2005, when a dedicated group of Auxiliary volunteers turned a former laundromat into the warm, inviting space it is today. After months of planning, visiting other thrift stores and preparing the storefront, the shop began accepting donations in December 2005 and opened for business in January 2006.
Today, the thrift shop continues to reflect the heart of the Auxiliary: neighbors helping neighbors.
To learn more about donations or accepted items, please call the thrift shop at 410-629-1447.
